Magic Kingdom is offers a full day kindergarten, with an interesting and challenging curriculum. Our fully licensed kindergarten exceeds the State of Connecticut standards for the education of young children.
Our full day kindergarten is perfect for children who are academically ready for kindergarten but who are younger due to late summer, fall or winter birthdays. Our class size is small to ensure that more advanced children can progress rapidly.
Kindergarten at Magic Kingdom includes a full reading program, mathematics, social studies and science. Concepts are presented with a blend of the visual, auditory, and kinesthetic. No child's learning style is overlooked and no child is missed.
Our children are encouraged to problem solve, participate in classroom planning, and initiate their own learning through discovery. We stress self-esteem and social skills because children learn best when they are relaxed and confident. Most importantly, we work to build character by teaching age-appropriate organizational skills and responsibility.
7:00-8:30 Breakfast club: children arrive and can play in quiet centers.8:30-8:45 Circle time: with stories and songs.
8:45-9:05 Directed morning work. Table activities are offered each day, such as coloring, water colors, rice table and play dough. Children also have choice of free play. Activities include dramatic play, blocks, sensory, books, music and motor activities (small and large).
9:10-9:40 Circle time: greeting, pledge of allegiance, Calendar, weather, mornimg message, monthly wordds, 100 days of school, songs, letter of the week, story, sight words, show and tell.
9:40-10:00 Transition time: Clean up, toileting, hand washing, and morning snack.
10:00-11:15 Language Arts(reading and writing).
11:15-11:50 Hand washing and lunch.
11:50-12:30 Recess.
12:30-12:45 Story time.
12:45-1:15 Math.
1:15-1:55 Social Studies.
1:55-2:30 Science.
2:30-3:00 Centers.
3:00-5:30 After-school program.
